Every journey Dr. Roque has undertaken has carried deep meaning for the lives he has touched with his own hands. The earthquake in Manabí, Ecuador, was a disaster that shook not only the nation but the entire world — a 7.8 magnitude quake that claimed 700 lives and left more than 6,000 people homeless. In the midst of this tragedy, Dr. Roque played a vital role by providing clean water and essential first aid supplies to the elderly, infants, and even animals affected by the catastrophe.
Panama also faced a humanitarian challenge when hundreds of Cuban migrants were stranded, unable to continue their journey toward the United States. Dr. Roque responded by renting hotels to ensure his fellow countrymen had a safe place to sleep.
In Costa Rica, a crisis emerged when more than 500 passports belonging to Cuban refugees were confiscated by immigration authorities against their will. This situation triggered national concern, prompting Dr. Roque to intervene. His efforts led to the release of the passports, restoring peace of mind to the refugees. The President of Costa Rica personally assured Dr. Roque that he would help facilitate the departure process for the stranded Cubans.
By the end of 2016, Dr. Roque had not only sent containers of water and supplies to Ecuador but had also extended economic and humanitarian assistance across five different countries, leaving a legacy of compassion and solidarity wherever he went.
Over the course of a decade, Dr. Roque has dedicated his life to serving communities affected by natural disasters, humanitarian crises, and health emergencies across the Americas. His commitment, compassion, and medical vocation have made him a symbol of solidarity and hope.

In 2015, Dr. Roque sent humanitarian aid to Mexico City to help combat the Zika virus. That same year, he extended his support to the victims of the severe storm that struck the Atacama region in Chile, providing essential supplies and medical assistance.

During 2016, Dr. Roque led a humanitarian mission that crossed Costa Rica, Panama, Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Mexico, accompanying 200 Cuban migrants all the way to Texas, United States. His leadership ensured safety, medical attention, and logistical support throughout the journey.

That year, he responded to the devastating 8.0 magnitude earthquake that struck Chiapas, Mexico, providing aid to those affected. Months later, when another 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit Mexico City, Puebla, Morelos, and the State of Mexico, Dr. Roque once again mobilized to deliver food, medical care, and assistance for community recovery.

In 2018, following Hurricanes Florence and Michael, which battered the Carolinas and Florida, Dr. Roque coordinated the delivery of medical supplies and humanitarian aid to the affected areas. That same year, he extended his support to Peru, helping families of the victims of a deadly landslide and the 8.0 magnitude earthquake that struck the country.

He joined a national campaign to collect essential supplies for the state of Oklahoma, supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening networks of solidarity.

During the catastrophic wildfires that ravaged California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington, Dr. Roque joined emergency medical teams, providing care to victims and assisting in the recovery of affected communities.

The year 2021 was one of the most challenging periods of his career. Together with a team of colleagues, he organized campaigns to collect and distribute masks across the country and abroad. He also volunteered in hospitals, tirelessly caring for COVID-19 patients until the end of the year.

Today, in 2025, after taking time to focus on his personal and professional life, Dr. Roque resumes his humanitarian mission with renewed purpose — to direct his efforts toward helping Cuban citizens. His medical career, defined by compassion and service, has granted him a fulfilling life, and now he seeks to give back this immense gift from God to Cuba, the country where he was born.

Dr Roque organized and led the “Cacerolazo por la Libertad de Cuba” in New York City, a major peaceful demonstration held in front of the Cuban Mission to the United Nations. The event brought together members of the Cuban community, Latin American leaders, and advocates for democracy to stand united against oppression and in support of freedom, dignity, and human rights for the Cuban people.
